Flow Verification
Optional pressure/temperature test plugs (2) are available for verifying the rate of flow through each FlowCon SH valve. They are fitted into 1/8" female threaded ports. (Mentioned ports meet ISO 228 standard). Once the valve is fitted with the P/T test plugs, a pressure differential reading across the valve can be taken. By means of the formula below, the flow rate can be calculated using the pressure differential reading.

where Q-is the Flow in GPM and DP-the pressure differential in psi.
- Kv and Cv = Flow Rate of the valve. The rating is a numerical value according to the adjustment setting of the valve.
- DP = Pressure Differential across the valve.
The flow rate can also be verified automatically by using one of many different brands of electronic flow measurement devices which operate on a Cv value basis.

*Please note that the MEASURED flow rate can be lower than the SET flow rate. This normally indicates that another pressure dependent valve in the circuit has taken authority.
