Flowcon Automatic flow control cartridges
Automatic, dynamic balancing with the flexibility to adjust to any flow situation.

flowcon_k_flowgraph flowcon_k_01 The FlowCon ® K valve utilizes a specific flow rate cartridge. Below its' pressure differential range it acts as a fixed orifice, (this allows a modulating valve in the same circuit to operate with valve authority up to the flow rate specified.)
flowcon_k_02 Once in the operating pressure differential range, the effective open orifice area of the cartridge is automatically adjusted to the point where the specified flow rate will be delivered. (As the pressure differential increases, the open area closes, ...as it decreases, the area opens.)
flowcon_k_03 When the pressure differential range is exceeded, the valve again becomes a fixed orifice device. It is prevented from actually closing by the ports located at the top of the cap. This ensures that no part of the system is starved or shut down.

FlowCon K
An automatic/dynamic balancing valve, the FlowCon ® K constant flow valve maintains a specific flow rate independent of pressure fluctuations within the hydronic system. The flow rate for the application is selected and FlowCon ® does the rest, eliminating time consuming and costly manual balancing. Whether the application is air conditioning or heating, terminal unit or branch balancing, constant or modulating flow, the FlowCon ® model K valve is the most accurate yet flexible way of balancing any hydronic system... and completely automatic.
Hydronic systems in today's buildings are always in a dynamic state with valves and pumps activating on demand which in turn causes pressure fluctuations throughout each part of the system. Without pressure compensating balancing valves, circuits can be robbed of adequate flow or constantly exceed designed flow, both of which waste energy and decrease effectiveness of the system. Whether they are used to maintain flow in variable systems, the FlowCon ® model K valves economically solve these problems.
The FlowCon ® K valves was designed to be flexible for today's changing systems. The cartridge is mounted into the valve at a slight angle so that it can be easily removed and increased. This allows for changes in the flow rate later on. (This feature makes the valve ideal for changes in terminal unit requirements or system start -up where high velocity flushing is required.) There are currently over 120 flow rates to choose from between 0.02 and 2.78 l/s in valves up to 1-1/2" (40mm). Each cartridge is individually marked with a stamped code to avoid confusion on the job site. Each cartridge also has an available "tag" to be located on the outside of the valve for identification in the system. Available with several different options including; isolation ball valve, pressure/temperature taps, strainer with on line blow down, selecting the perfect balancing valve is now much easier.
